What Goes Around
SH&L sings the praises of circular sensations. From pendants and couches to fantastic home décor items, round designs stand the test of time

“Imagine the Knights of the Square Table. Can’t do it? We couldn’t either!”

Circles: consider them from different angles, and nothing changes except your place in the room. And why should it? We’d hardly want it to, when the shape is so pleasing and the form so functional. Icons such as the Nelson Marshmallow Sofa, designed for Herman Miller in 1956, inspired us to round every curve in search of more geometric expressions. Eight of our favorites include handmade porcelain by Klein Reid, Tom Dixon’s Mirror Ball—now available on a stand—and striking black-and-white ottomans from Roche Bobois. Each design celebrates the simple elegance of a sophisticated shape.
