The summer of 2008 was a hot season for fresh design in this area with fabulous stores opening every month. Western Avenue welcomed Liave in June and BoConcept in August. In late July, Veritables opened a third location, on the Eastside.
Veritables
10220 Main St., Bellevue, (425) 455-8335
Inspired by trips to Italy, Belgium and the south of France, designer Marie Harris expands her home furnishings collection with her third Veritables store—in Bellevue. While devotees of Veritables in Madison Valley will feel right at home in the latest locale, Harris’ Eastside digs offer a subtle twist on her signature modern luxe style. Her European-influenced furnishings and accents are mixed with a Northwest modern, modern Asian and modern organic perspective. We fell for a stunning petrified wood-top coffee table, gorgeous linen upholstered armchairs that contrast beautifully with their natural wood frames and bejeweled pillows scattered throughout the gracious 1,500-square-foot space. Don’t miss the outdoor back terrace with distinctive garden accents and outdoor furnishings.

Liave
1205 Western Ave., (206) 364-0748 | From Liave: rocking Cloud bed by Kloker, $7,800; Indoor/outdoor lightweight concrete stool by Holmes Wilson, $420. |
Fashioned from parts of her first and last names, Liave is the name of Cornelia Veit’s new Seattle furnishings and lifestyle store, a highly personal vision that’s close to her heart. The store is filled with a thoughtful assortment of beautiful and functional products and fulfills Veit’s dream of creating an inviting retail space where customers can relax and explore. A small sampling of merchandise seen at the June opening includes vases and vessels from a ninth-generation Greek potter, linens from Lithuania, a dramatic rocking bed from Kloker and a Northwest exclusive: indoor-outdoor concrete furniture by Pamela Holmes and Brad Wilson.
